Need an item that says CLOSED STACKS in Educat+?
CLOSED STACKS items are part of the Library's Special and Historical Collections and must be retrieved for your use by Library staff. CLOSED STACKS items cannot be checked out of the library and must be used under staff supervision in the Special Collections Reading Room, which is available by appointment.
The following materials are stored in the CLOSED STACKS:
Children's Fiction, Pre-1994
Curriculum Materials, Pre-1990
Research Resources, Pre-1950
TC Masters' Theses and Dissertations
Teachers Collegiana (TCANA) books and materials
You can request CLOSED STACKS items and make an appointment for the reading room through bibliographic records in Educat+. Once you select the desired resource, click on the hyperlink "Request from Closed Stacks" in the bibliographic record, which will take you to a request form in Qualtrics. See the screenshot below:
Once you fill out and submit the request form and book your appointment, you will be notified by email when your material has been retrieved and is available for use.
