I cannot find a historic TC master’s thesis
I am conducting research on TC alumn Johnson Chuin-Yung Leo, who was awarded a Master of Arts and a Teaching Certificate in Supervision in Foreign Schools on June 4, 1924.
I have searched the publicly available listings of Teachers College master’s theses from 1924, but I have not been able to find the title of his thesis.
If the thesis has been preserved and digitized, I would be grateful for any guidance on how I may obtain access to the full text.
Answer
According to TC's historic course catalogs, students could forego writing a master's thesis or report if the student took on additional coursework. If you cannot find thesis in our catalog or in our thesis collection for a student who graduated with a master's degree, it is probably because the student did not write and submit a report.
Please see our collection of historic catalogs for evidence of this practice. You can find the desired catalog by typing the relevant academic year into the search bar of the collection (e.g. 1923-1924). Course catalogs will be listed as "Announcements".
