Can I request a scan from the library's print collection?
Answer
The Gottesman Libraries does not provide general scanning services. We only scan very limited amounts of our printed texts for course reserves, by faculty request.
Free scanning stations are available for use on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the library.
Please be sure to check CLIO, as Columbia Libraries may provide an electronic version of the book you are seeking. If you cannot find one, reach out to us via Ask a Librarian, and we will look into acquiring an electronic version. Please note that most older texts and editioned textbooks are not available for the library to acquire in Ebook format.
If you require an accommodation, please contact OASID. Note that you may be required to register with OASID before placing your request.
In addition please note:
Gottesman Libraries may scan archival or historical material for which Teachers College, Columbia University is the owner, contingent upon review of the request, physical condition, and available resources. Scanned material will be included in the institutional repository and library catalog.
Accommodations for Access to archival materials scanned prior to 2023 may be requested within EDUCAT+. the catalog of Gottesman Libraries.
